This blog is about our apartment in Athens.

We decided to start exchanging our apartment as soon as we had two children. We love travelling all around the world and exchanging homes seems to us the only affordable way to do so.

We occassionally live in this apartment so it is available all year round even for long term holidays. When we don't, we exchange it or short term rent it.

In our apartment you can find the following:

One bedroom with a big double bed (1,40m x 2,00m)
One small bedroom with two single beds
One living room with one sofa (sleeps one)
One large kitchen with laundry, cooker, oven, fridge, coffee makers, toast maker, all kinds of pans, full set of kitchenware.
One rennovated bathroom with toilet, wash basin, shower.
One dining table with six leather chairs

The house is located in an area 1,5 kilometres from the very city centre. That means it is central, yet local. There are all kinds of means of transportation nearby. There are two metro stations one 7 minutes away and the other 5 minutes away.
There is also one trolley line and many bus lines in 200m distance.

5 adults can sleep in our apartment.

Our apartment is in the centre of the city between two metro stations so, it's a convenient place to explore the whole city, but it is also a good base for one day trips to nearby islands or historical sites such as Mycenae, The ancient Epidavros theatre, Nafplion city, Delphi or you can even have longer trips to Meteora or Sparta.

There are two adjoining bedrooms with one double bed in the master bedroom and two single beds in the children's bedroom. The kitchen is very big and equipped. In the living room there is a comfortable sofa where one person can sleep. You will find toys and books for the children, books and plenty of flyers and maps for the grown ups. We have also created a guide for our guests on what to do, what to book and where to go in the city and out of it. So even if you come unprepared you will find plenty of things to do.

The apartment is on the fourth floor. There is a lift. The floor has three more apartments and it is very quiet. There is also cleaning service if you wish.

In the neighbourhood you can find cafes, tavernas and supermarkets. It's a local place, yet very close to all attractions. You can either choose the metro or even taxi to get around. As the apartment is central the taxi is not very expensive to take you to the places of interest. So in case you come with young children who get tired easily, this is a good choice.

The parking is free in the street but there is also a closed guarded garage nearby upon payment. As it is a safe neighborhood having the car in the street is a good option.
